Worked with Professors Leah C. Stokes and Matto Mildenberger, conducting sentiment analysis on public discourse to support UCSB’s 2035 Initiative, which focused on long-term policy innovation and strategic governance. Responsibilities included gathering and processing large datasets, analyzing trends across social and traditional media platforms, and assisting in the development of policy-relevant insights. Collaborated with faculty and graduate researchers to evaluate public opinion and political behavior in relation to climate, technology, and institutional trust.
As part of a collaborative effort with UCSB’s Student Engagement and Leadership (SEAL) team, I was selected as one of two students to serve on a newly formed, 10-person committee tasked with shaping UCSB’s Future Traditions and Welcome Weeks. In this role, I worked alongside staff and student leaders to reimagine campus events, enhance school spirit, and create a more inclusive and engaging experience for new and returning students. The committee focused on building long-lasting traditions that reflect the diverse identities and values of the UCSB community.
As a member of the VCSA Student Cabinet, I contributed to a think tank of 12 members, provided feedback on campus policies, discussed improvements, met with department heads, and directly recommended ways for the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs to address student needs.
At Assemblyman Gregg Hart's office, I was responsible for managing communications with constituents, ensuring inquiries were addressed efficiently. I worked on creating certificates that recognized and celebrated local businesses and community members, contributing to district outreach efforts. Additionally, I represented the office at public events, fostering connections and increasing the assemblyman's visibility in the community. My contributions supported legislative objectives and strengthened the office’s role in community engagement and representation.
In Assemblyman Phillip Chen's office, I played a key role in constituent relations by handling communications and ensuring timely and effective responses to inquiries. I created certificates to celebrate local businesses and individuals, fostering community engagement. Additionally, I represented the office at various events, strengthening community ties and enhancing the assemblyman's presence in the district. Through these activities, I supported legislative initiatives and contributed to the office's overall mission of serving and connecting with the community.
At Congressman Ruiz's Washington, D.C. office, I played a crucial role in legislative operations by conducting comprehensive research and drafting detailed memos, which contributed to the congressman signing onto significant legislation. Additionally, I prepared briefings and facilitated communication with constituents, ensuring their voices were heard and their needs addressed. My work involved supporting panel discussions and coordinating with legislative staff to drive effective policy outcomes.
At Congressman Salud Carbajal's Santa Barbara office, I served as an integral part of the team by actively communicating with constituents to address their concerns and inquiries. I was responsible for assisting with scheduling, generating certificates to honor distinguished locals and businesses, and undertaking various administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.
As part of the Associated Students of UCSB, I served as a Local Policy Analyst, where I analyzed and developed policy recommendations that impacted our student community. Additionally, I was the Transfer Representative for the Student Fee Advisory Committee (SFAC), a high-level, student-led committee that reviewed and recommended how the Chancellor allocated the Student Services Fee revenue. This fee supported services and programs that directly benefited students, including social, recreational, cultural, health, and career support services, aiming to create a supportive and enriched learning environment for all UC students. I also served as Chair of the SFAC Plaque Subcommittee, which ensured all SFAC-funded projects were designated as such. Furthermore, I represented SFAC on the UCEN Governance Board and voted in accordance with SFAC's interests.
As the Chief Justice of Santiago Canyon College's Associated Student Government (ASG), I spearheaded the court branch, overseeing its functions and upholding the integrity of our student governance system, including the annual Associated Student elections. Under my leadership, a team of associate justices efficiently addressed campus issues, ensuring fairness and due process. Collaborating with other leaders, we played a key role in fostering cohesive student governance and actively contributed to shaping policies and initiatives that enhanced the student experience.
At R&S Law Firm in Tustin, I assisted the legal team with critical case law research, contributing to the preparation and progression of legal cases. Additionally, I undertook a variety of essential intern responsibilities, ranging from document management to supporting client communications and ensuring efficient firm operations.
As Treasurer for the Santiago Canyon College Speech and Debate Team, I was responsible for managing finances, organizing fundraisers, and ensuring the team's financial health. Alongside these duties, I achieved personal success by going 5-0 in a major tournament, earning the IPDA Gold Award and the Speaker Award for exceptional argumentation and eloquence.
As the NMUN Club Vice President, I actively engaged with fellow delegates from diverse schools, including many international students, fostering cross-cultural understanding. Together, we crafted UN-style resolutions adhering to the official UN format, participating in dynamic discussions, and refining negotiation skills. Additionally, I contributed to committee work, deepened my knowledge of global issues, and honed my public speaking abilities in this collaborative international environment. I also motivated a team of 16 students to prepare for multiple Model UN conferences. In both conferences, my partner and I won an award for representing our nation's interest in specific issues, and my team and I were able to be recognized at the highest level for our exemplary work in all committees.
